If you’re looking for a Denver CO neighborhood with gorgeous mountain views, close to downtown and near several colleges, Ruby Hill Park is a great choice. The neighborhood is also renowned for its outdoor recreation.
The area is surrounded by parks, including Ruby Hill Park and Sanderson Gulch Park. The latter is an open space park and the riparian area centered on a creek that empties into the South Platte River. Read on for some ideas.
Location
Ruby Hill Park Denver CO is a great place to visit with family or friends. It features a playground, tennis courts, swimming pools, and much more.
The park is also home to a dirt bike course and a concert venue that gets some big names in the summer. A creek runs through the park and a public trail follows it.
While it’s an excellent choice for a family outing, the park can be a bit noisy with cars driving up and down Florida Avenue and other nearby roads. To combat this, Denver Parks and Recreation developed a plan to encourage traffic to stay in designated parking areas and urged police to ticket and tow cars that break the rules.
To help with this, Denver Parks and Recreation also teamed up with Winter Park Resort to build the Ruby Hill Rail Yard. This urban terrain park features ten rails, boxes, and snow features that are free to use for skiers and snowboarders.
Amenities
Located less than five miles south of downtown Denver, Ruby Hill Park is an ideal place to live for many residents. It offers everything you’d want in a neighborhood, including local eateries, coffee shops, outdoor attractions, gyms, and more!
It’s also incredibly walkable and easy to get around on the bus or rail lines. The neighborhood has a walking score of seven, making it an excellent choice for those who prefer to travel on foot or bike.
There are several parks in the area, including Sanderson Gulch Trail and Park, a creekside park with open space, picnic areas, and a paved biking trail. The neighborhood is also home to Levitt Pavilion Denver, an amphitheater that puts on free concerts every year. Getting There
Ruby Hill Park is a must-visit destination for locals and visitors alike. It offers a variety of recreational activities and features a free concert venue, Levitt Pavilion.
Located off South Platte River Drive and West Florida Avenue, this park is a great place to hang out, take in the sights of Denver, or just enjoy a peaceful day outdoors with friends. It has playgrounds, ball fields, and a mountain bike park.
It’s also home to one of the country’s largest urban terrain parks for skiers and snowboarders, operated by Winter Park Resort and Denver Parks and Recreation.
The park opened for its 12th season in January and is open until March, weather permitting. It features rails, snow features, and boxes of all levels to challenge jibbers of all ages.
But while neighbors like Moe are happy about the free concerts at Levitt Pavilion, they’re worried about music fans parking on the grass at the park’s entrance. They’ve even thought of building parking lots in a protected native-grass area below the hill, closer to the venue.
Parking
Located at 1200 Florida Ave, Ruby Hill Park is one of the more popular parks in the Denver Parks system. It features ball fields, playgrounds, picnic areas and the Leavitt Pavilion, a concert venue that gets some big-name acts in the summertime.
For those attending shows, there are several free options for parking in and around the park. For select concerts, you can also pay a small fee to park in the Radio Tower Lot nearby.
When a parking lot becomes full, the Levitt Pavilion team offers valets to help direct traffic and keep drivers in line and off the grass. “It’s more of a safety issue than it is an inconvenience,” says Thomas.
There are also plenty of options for bikers to ride in and around the park. The Ruby Hill Bike Park has a slope-style course, dirt jumps, and pump tracks. It’s also a great place to sled in the winter. Next article.
